Introduction:

My main area of research is the application of wavelet transforms to the processing and interpretation of aeromagnetic data. I am particularly interested in the application of operators to both located and gridded data in order to produce enhancements for geological interpretation. In certain cases, wavelet transforms provide a robust and effective alternative to conventional Fourier-domain and spatial convolution techniques.

My latest interest is the use of wavelet transforms on irregularly spaced data. For further information, please contact me by email.

News:

MATLAB code is finally available for download!!! See here for details.

I am currently working for Woodside Petroleum in Perth. See the bottom of the page for contact details. Also, my PhD is now available for download from this web site (see below).

All of my downloadable papers have been moved to a new server now so hopefully there shouldn't be any download problems.

Matlab Code:

All of the Matlab code accompanying my thesis is available for download.

DOWNLOAD MATLAB CODE

The code can be used to reproduce most of the figures in my thesis using the actual algorithms I outline in the text. So if you would like to try out some different parameters you can. Hopefully this also makes it easier to reproduce my results. Please note that this code is "as is" and I will not be supporting it.

Publications:

PhD Thesis:

'The application of the wavelet transform to the processing of aeromagnetic data'
Supervised by Dr M.C.Dentith, Dr R.D.List and Dr A.R.Gabell

Acrobat PDF copy (2.7Mb)    **** DOWNLOAD NOW ****

Requires adobe acrobat to view : see the acrobat web site for details (its free!)

Note this version contains low-res versions of many of the figures. If you would prefer a high-resolution postscript version of the thesis suitable for printing, please email me and I'll send you a CD copy.

The accompanying Matlab code for with the thesis is now available here .
