1913 Model M Grant
This Grant was also stored on it's rear end in Chicago and was acquired in the early 1060's. From there it went to the 'Reynolds Museum' in Wetaskawin, Alberta, Canada from where Mr Grant Stephens purchased it in 1988.
In March 2002 Grant and his wife were downsizing their home which resulted in not enough room for all their cars. They told their two sons, Jeffrey and Mathew, that they could have a car each. Jeffrey received a 1935 Chev Master Rumbleseat Coupe and Mathew got the 1913 Grant.
Mathew is trying to get the Grant restored for his daughters graduation. It is also a single pedal car. They have most of the parts except for the Swiss magneto and electric headlights. They have also purchased a 1913 speedometer and a pair of side lamps.
They also have a 16 page booklet produced in 1913 just before the Grant went into production. This booklet keeps referring to how well the experimental models ran and that they will soon be available at local dealers, which they list in the book, one of which is in Melbourne, Australia and one in Buffalo, New York. Ironically, he purchased a large fold-out brochure for the 1915 6 cylinder cars which is from this Buffalo dealer. It is double sided and 1/4 of this brochure is devoted to the Model M.
Mr Grant says that he knows of another Model M in Canada, fully restored, and owned by a chap named Ron in Calgary, Alberta. It is painted maroon but has two features which he thinks are not not correct. It has pouches on the inside of the doors and has the name "Grant" on the grill.
