These pictures are of another 1914 Grant that has been purchased by a Mr Staffan Serring of Sweden about January 1999. He said that the man he bought it from got it in America in 1977 where a large barn had a lot of old cars stored standing on their rear ends to save space.

This Grant has the following numbers:

Frame:         1643
Engine:        2015
Rear Axle:   2016
Drive Shaft: 2150

It is left hand drive and has been fitted with the electric starter/generator that is driven by a chain. It has only one pedal on the floor also. Strange, as mine is number 1199, an earlier built model and has two pedals. Maybe they only shipped two pedal versions to Australia.

Staffan has started to restore the car and here are a few pictures of progress so far.

He has also sent some pictures of a Grant that he found in a magazine. The second picture shows the left side of the motor with an attachment to one of the 'Primer Valves'. It is probably a 'Compression Whistle'. I have heard these things on other cars and they are very loud.

There is a rumour that another Grant is somewhere in Sweden. Information gathered so far suggests that it was brought to Sweden from Lagan, Denmark, then placed in a museum in a 'Western Town' called 'High Chaparral'. The museum had financial problems and most of the cars were sold to Japan, but the Grant is still around in Sweden as it has been reportedly spotted somewhere.
