23 August William Wallace's trial Wallace's travesty trial at Westminster & his "Hung, Drawn & Quartered" Execution at Smithfield, London (1305). This barbaric act saw the Scots hero's head displayed at London Bridge, the 1st quarter by the open drain at Newcastle, the 2nd at Berwick, the 3rd at Perth and the 4th at Aberdeen.
09 September Battle of Flodden Field (1513) The disastrous defeat of a truly united Scots army Highland and Lowland under King James 4th. Led to the tragic death of the King and "the Flower of Scotland's" Nobility.
