Go-Kan-Ryu Karate

Origins

Go-Kan-Ryu Karate was actually founded here in Adelaide over 20 years by Kancho Robert Sullivan.
There are some excellent sites giving details about the history of GKR which can be found from the links given below.

Dojo's we teach at

  1. The Pines Dojo

  2. Salisbury East Dojo

Our Involvement

Our family is involved with the Adelaide Northern Region (Region 9), and the South Australian GKR Tournament Team.
I am Sensei of 2 dojos now, running a class at the Pines Primary School, and another class at the Salisbury East Highschool. My daughter is a full sensei and helps me at my classes.

My daughter Crystal and I are both Sho-Dan.
My eldest son Daniel is a Shodan-Ho (Provisional Black-belt).
My wife Merilyn is a 5th Kyu (Blue belt).
My youngest son Tobias doesn't have a rank yet, just being 3, but he shows signs of following along.
