Welcome to the new updated installment for the Tour of Duty 2005.

Well it's been a while since an update to much to talk about. The football seasons have ended and the cricket season has begun, Christmas and New Years has come and gone, Megan and Adrian tied the knot, and plans have been made for an even bigger 2005.

Byrne's bucks show was a grand event. That was except for an ugly wait outside a nightclub, and then entering only for Hobson to proclaim that he was sure the place was a gay-bar. A very shaky end to the evening with people leaving at various stages, only to see Byrnes grooving his way into the night at Carmen's nightclub.

This was held on AFL Grand Final day where Port Adelaide were victorious. A week later, those Doggies finally won the premiership, much to the dismay of TG as his Roosters had now lost 3 of the last 5 GF's. A week later, it was onto Forbes, and the much anticipated Byrne-Krieg wedding.

The Friday night at the pub saw a few sore heads the next day, recovering just in time for the Ceremony Saturday afternoon. The reception was grand and everyone greeted the new member of the Rant Rant, Todd's Present. This member has been missing in action all year, but finally was brought out of hiding to be the star of the evening. Bob singing Mustang Sally with the band, as well as Buzz's and Brett's unconcious dancing meant that the night would not be forgotten. Some impromtu bus songs, and Karaoke back at the pub afterwards brought the evening to a close. The trip back to the city was made slowly the next day. Full details here.

Nik and Starry headed overseas either side of the wedding and came back with the news that Starry had popped the question. Congratulations go to both parties.

Tony's rampage 2 weeks later saw a quiet day, but Tone and the Maitland crew had a massive night out in Coogee. Not much can be remembered about the evening.

Gill moved to Sydney to change jobs, and Hobson followed not long after bringing the majority of the crew back to a single location. More drinks in the city are definately on the cards now.

The Hackers kicked off their 2004/05 Season with TG, Freak, Gaffer, Brett, Buzz and Gill down to make contributions throughout the year. A page has been erected to follow the tribulations of the team and can be found here.

The Round Robin tipping comp saw a very muddled finish, with the last few rounds ending up being quite a shambles. The finals were not played, and Tone was partially declared a pseudo winner (even though his tipping style was frowned upon by many people). Freak had the best win of the year, 1 week after the last documented week with $10 on Luke O'Donnell to be 1st try scorer in the Dogs v Cowboys Week 1 Finals Game. At $51 dividend, he blew the competition out of the water. Well done Freak.

Heroes on Hunter was conducted on Friday night just gone, with most being able to gather for a few pre-Christmas drinks, and pencilling in an Itinerary for 2005. Bring it on!!!

Hope everyone has a great Chrissy/New Year. Day 1 of the SCG Test was great. Full details here. See you all at Wentworth Park on 22nd January for the first venture to the Dish-Lickers for the Rant Rant.

Until next time, Rant Rant.
