Zachary's 5th Month

Well Zac is now 5 months and is slowing his growth down a bit. He has stayed the same clothes size and only put on a kilo :) Unfortunately his dermatitis got a lot worse over the last few weeks. His face and head is particularly bad. We went to a dermatologist last week, were prescribed some new creams and advised to do a long stint of a cortezone cream, and he has got a bit better in the last 2 days. Hopefully in the next 2 weeks he will heal before we fly out to Japan. He got his passport last month, what an effort, post office and passport department incompetency was mind-boggling and together they were incredible - 9 visits and form re-submissions, can you believe that!

Despite his bad health we still socialise and Zac does everything with us. Here's afternoon tea at our friends in Sydney (here for a year from Canada) - Adrian & Yuki Lee :)

Zac was taking a course of anti-biotics which gave him a really sore tummy, and destroyed his sleeping patterns. He was waking every 2 hours screaming through the night, and getting no sleep during the day either, constantly whinging. Once we stopped the course he went right back to his regular routine which was bliss for us too - he caught up on missed sleep as well! His last cycle (4 to 6:30pm) includes a baby einstein or japanese baby DVD on the big screen which he loves and allows Kay & Dave to do other things - cook dinner, build a fire etc. Then it's bath-time, feed and bed. After those anti-biotics he slept through the DVD's for the next couple of days:

Still gets daily tummy time but isn't crawling yet. Plenty of push-ups :) Lots of talking to him himself but we don't understand what he's saying.

He takes a lot of interest in what David does, and has started supervising his work at home. I don't mind until he starts correcting me on how to build PC's . . .
