Zachary's 8th Month
And so Zac gets older, approximately 1 month every month, as is the way of things . . . lots of smiles these days, loves cuddles and we're seeing a few different expressions as well. He isn't impressed with our attempts at feeding him solid food, and depending on what it is, screws his nose and face up, whinges a lot, or throws it back up. Might be a fussy eater, probably gets it off Kay . . . Zac is rolling all over the place, can do a back-stroke crawl using a breast-stroke kick, and is starting to sort of crawl forwards on his tummy. More pulling forwards with arms and tries to bury the head, but it's forward progress, albeit slow. He is good at sitting by himself and getting much better at standing.
Here are a few pics of Zac in Japan - he flew back late November and was much better flying back to Oz than leaving it according to Kay. His routine was shot for a few days - he'd wake at night - but he soon got back into the swing of things and sleeping through. He seems to be following the "Babywise" principles pretty well and is certainly fairly content and happy most of the time. He does get bored easily though - we have to do lots of different things to keep him amused / learning.
As soon as he flew in we went off to the auctions to buy a cheap washing machine - our old one had finally died - and Zac really likes watching the front-loader go around. He likes ceiling fans too.
Meanwhile the reno continues at Shamley Green with Zac interested in everything going on, and supervising wherever possible. Dave pulled out a tree and dug up some concrete in the middle of our backyard so Zac would have a better soccer and cricket pitch in future years - Zac ensured the new turf was laid properly:
As soon as there's a break in the reno it's Dave's job to amuse Zac so Kay can cook or clean or something (Kay the super-mum), his attention span is about 5 minutes.
Zac loves going for walks, especially on Dave's shoulders:
Zac also likes watching cricket with Dave - although they both think it is a bit boring when England bat and score 6 for 551:
