OzCanAir is one of a small group of enthusiasts who have mastered the art of turning trash into veritable treasure. Several of us conduct very successful businesses as a result of our endeavours. Whether you are merely interested in passing, or keen to have a serious go, we are sure you will find this craft very interesting. Wonder if it's easy? Well, no.. not easy.. Same as any craft.. but the urge to make more intricate models will keep you yearning & learning.
For years I have been an avid builder and flier of radio controlled model aircraft and had seen a few rather basic beercan models. Although these were indeed novel they lacked much of the basic aesthetics of aircraft that I thought I should at least try to emulate. Realising that it would surely be more difficult than it appeared I pressed on. With a lot of material assistance from BCAIR (USA) I eventually starting producing better looking models as I became more experienced. I think my guiding thought was that " it should look as though it COULD fly" , while appreciating that in fact it wouldn't.
You be the judge of that...
I've included some excellent models from the USA as
well as locally.
Should I have missed anyone please let me know.
My models are available for purchase (and delivery) anywhere in Australia.. As I don't keep stock, any order will take some time but will be unique.. guaranteed! If you are interested please email me for prices, models etc...
The Galleries will be well worth a few minutes browsing. I'm including mostly those less than 2 years old in my own collection as earlier models clearly lack a lot of the refinements made in recent times. But there are a few early ones. The possibilities are endless.
Please note that I neither provide plans or detailed instructions, however I'm very happy to help out if you need advice or discuss techniques.
