BCAIR For many years Wayne has been producing an ever widening range of model airplanes, encouraging and helping a great number of us into the craft.
His site is well worth a good look around as it's unique in it's presentation. He has done a fine job of presenting all aspects of his products and the hobby in general.
Wayne has the most comprehensive range of plans available as well as video tutorials. We all got started there. See GALLERY
AC AIRCRAFT Bill Waite is very productive in manufacture and operates one of the best sales sites around. See GALLERY
It doesn't end with model aircraft, Ron will show you how to build darn near anything, and it will look really something. He also specialises in hints & tips and I strongly urge anyone who may already be producing this kind of model to contact him and offer some ideas to the general viewers. Don't miss the really nifty Step-by-Step tutorials. Ron also has another site, or is associated with it... well worth a good look around. Tesscar Aluminum Craft
Ray Roberts is clearly a man in love with the can ( no, not the loo...) His
website is a treasure trove of tincan modelling and features a diversity of
subject matter. As well as drink can modelling he has a huge store of paper
airplane models, etc... Well worth a lengthy visit.
I obtained the book mentioned here ( also speedily dispatched and delivered.. again..6 days from the U.S. to Australia.). Although it is very interesting it is not a step-by-step coverage and might be more useful as a means of exploring different areas of the hobby. Joe Barker is also very helpful and I would expect that he would he would be happy to assist as the need arises. It is based on the concept of removing the printwork off the face of the can and using either the revealed bright work to great effect or finishing with some other method. It employs glue rather than staples but to date I have not found a glue in this country that seems anything like the "must-have" he talks about. It certainly has some interesting techniques and I expect I shall try them out before long.
Obviously inspired from the earlier BCAir models, this site offers a unique service. You may purchase short-form kits of parts along with the plans for a couple of popular models. It implies that postage is included to anywhere, including international, maybe it's so, but it does seem rather modest in cost. If anyone gives it a try please let me know how it worked out.
This is a one-off from a site that dedicates itself to the humble beer. The technique it employs is rather simplistic but well documented. It should be fun to knock one up at some time just for the experience.
I came across this quite by chance and although it is very commercial it is still interesting to see how it's done in S.E. Asia. The quality looks good but the detail and the size is rather modest. However, if you feel like making up a small order that fills 1 CUBIC METRE minimum, then I'm sure the folk there will look after you. Seriously, if nothing else, there are some good ideas that you may be able to model from..
Be aware that paper, or CARD, modeling has been around for a long time and has to be seen to be fully appreciated. I've read, and believe, that the plans for these can quite readily be applied to aluminium sheet modeling, which is what this site is all about. Well worth a leisurely wander through the listings..
Zio Prudenzio's Paper Model Page.
Another nicely presented paper plane site.. with a couple of FREE downloads if you fancy a go at converting paper plans to alcan.
While certainly not in the mainstream construction of any of the above sources, I've added this site simply because it qualifies and is pretty interesting anyway.
Jack has been at it since he was 4 y.o. And I'm hardly surprised... what a collection! Check out this as I'm not even sure just how much wonder one site can contain..
If you know of any site that features drink can modelling I would be happy to include it on this page.. EMAIL ME
