Congratulations to all who entered, you have taken the first step to getting published and everyone starts out somewhere. We wish we could reward you all, but then it wouldn't be a competition, would it? Keep writing, and we hope you have a happy and prosperous year. We always get an interesting mix of stories, and this competition was no exception; mysteries, children's, historical, sci-fi - you name it, we read it.
No doubt you will have noticed that we have been offering some added incentives lately in the form of movie passes. We were approached by icon movies to help promote their movies that are based on books. Since both Icon Movies and you as authors benefit, we are happy to help. With the additional exposure this gives us, we hope it will rub off on our winning and short listed authors. You never know who is reading your work these days - you could be discovered right here!
Some of our authors have given their permission for their stories to be read on Vision Australia Radio. We have begun the process of contacting all our short listed authors with the details. It is a great opportunity to have your story heard by over 100,000 listeners, and know that you are helping out a worthwhile charity.
We look forward to reading your next efforts, or even past entries. Start writing now for our next competition. We are accepting entries now for the April 2010 competition.
Remember that if you have some stories you would like to share or receive feedback for, post them on our Forum. It has been very quiet for a while now, and is begging to be used by new and established authors for research, critique, or even just a chat.
We hope you enjoy the winning entry, and look forward to reading more from all of you in the future.
